Immerse Audio/Enhanced Headphone Mode - Error Codes and Troubleshooting

The following is a list of the most common error codes and how they can be fixed. Please note that this list may not cover all issues. Should your particular error code not be listed, please consider searching the Embody Help Centre.

[DAT09]

Error code [DAT09] is commonly encountered when the game fails to save or download your Personalised Profile.

Fix: Please toggle Enhanced Headphone Mode off and on. It should re-download your Personalised Profile.

[DAT24]

Error code [DAT24] is commonly encountered when the game fails to save or download your Personalised Profile.

Fix: Please toggle Enhanced Headphone Mode Off and On. It should re-download your Personalised Profile.

[FAI21]

Error code [FAI21] is commonly encountered when the game fails to connect to the internet or Embody servers.

Fix: Please wait and try again.

[NET03]

Error code [NET03] is commonly encountered when the game fails to connect to the internet.

Fix: Follow these troubleshooting steps:

1. Ensure your device is connected to Wi-Fi and a stable network.

2. It is possible that some firewall is blocking it. You can also follow the steps from this Embody article to troubleshoot it.

[NET22]

[NET22] is commonly encountered when the game fails to connect to the internet or Embody servers.

Fix: Please check your internet connection, and try again.

[NIS00]

Error code [NIS00] occurs due to an installation issue, a communication issue in the game, or an inability to reach the servers.

Fix: Please try the following steps:

1: Relaunch the game.

2: If the issue is not resolved, please reinstall the game.

3: Please wait, and try again, in the case of a server issue.

To avoid the issue in the future: Do not change controllers while the game is running, or the game will require a relaunch. Do not enter the game in quick resume on consoles, or the game will require a relaunch.

[NLC06]

You will see the error code [NLC06] if there is an issue setting up your User ID or Licence.

Fix: Please close and open the Enhanced Headphone Mode Configuration screen to sync your licence and user information.

[NUS02]

Error code [NUS02] is commonly encountered when the game fails to connect to the internet.

Fix: Please close and open the Enhanced Headphone Mode Configuration screen, which should work.

If the issue persists, try follow these troubleshooting steps to resolve this error:

1. Ensure your device is connected to Wi-Fi and a stable network. 

2. It is possible that some firewall is blocking it. You can also follow the steps from this Embody article to troubleshoot it.

[SVR04]

If you experience error code [SVR04] there was an error contacting Embody servers.

Fix: Follow these troubleshooting steps:

1. Ensure your device is connected to Wi-Fi and a stable network.

2. It is possible that some firewall is blocking it. You can also follow the steps from this Embody article to troubleshoot it.

Other Error messages

It is possible that you may encounter other error messages whilst setting up Enhanced Headphone Mode. Please click the below messages to expand. 

Personalised enhanced headphone mode is not available on child accounts. Visit support.seaofthieves.com for more information.

"Personalised Enhanced Headphone Mode is not available on child accounts"

Data Protection laws prevent children from submitting the data required to provide a scan of their face and ears. This means that the Personalised Profile will not be available until the user is 18 years of age. 

Until this time, the free Generic Profile will be available for child account users and will be activated automatically by turning on Enhanced Headphone Mode

"Trial Expired"

This message appears when your trial has expired and you don't have a valid license to continue using your Personalised Profile. 

To fix this, please follow the below steps:  

  • Launch Sea of Thieves, and navigate to Settings
  • Go to Enhanced Headphone Mode the game’s settings menu and select the button 'Purchase Gamepack'.
  • Please follow the process to finish your purchase. 
  • In the settings, toggle Enhanced Headphone Mode off and then on again to ensure your permissions are updated. 

Alternatively - if you do not wish to purchase the Game pack - you can navigate to the Enhanced Headphone Mode settings and just toggle on the Enhanced Headphone option to enjoy the functionality of the Generic Profile

 

General Troubleshooting

There are some other scenarios with which players may need answers or support. Please see below:

I purchased the Immerse Gamepack, but the game is asking me to start the trial/purchase again

Licences for the Immerse Gamepack are tied to the platform upon which they are purchased. If you have purchased the game pack on the wrong platform, or believe you should own it on the platform on which you are seeing this message, please contact our support team by opening a ticket, below.

I purchased the Immerse Gamepack on Battle.net, but am hearing no difference in audio quality

Please restart your game to refresh your licence. You should notice the change upon logging back into the game.

I hear no difference in the sound when I have Enhanced Headphone Mode enabled 

If you aren't hearing the difference with Enhanced Headphone Mode On vs Off, please try the following:

  • Check that your output device is correctly set to your headphones output.
  • Ensure in your Device's Audio Settings, that the audio output is NOT being sent to a surround sound or multichannel output.
  • Be sure to disable any other 3rd party spatial audio or surround sound options on your gaming rig and headphones, such as Sony PS5 3D Audio, Dolby Atmos, or other in-headphone surround sound.  See Embody's audio gear guide blog for more information.  
  • Restart your game to refresh your profile.
