The Custom Text Overlay is a highly customizable, high contrast overlay that helps players read in-game text more easily.
Players with visual needs may find it difficult to read certain in-world text, such as clues on the Riddle Map. When enabled, the Custom Text Overlay will display the same text in a clear, high contrast, more readable font, as a UI overlay, so it stays in a single location.
Custom Text Overlay currently works for Riddle Maps. We are planning to bring it to more in-game objects in future updates.
To enable:
- Navigate to Settings - Language
- Move down to Custom Text Overlay
- Set "Show Custom Text for Riddle Maps" to "On"
- Click the "Customise" button to choose your own preferred style.
You are able to change the following settings:
- On Screen Position: Default, Full-screen, Bottom Left, Bottom Right.
- Font Size: Small, Default, Large, Extra Large
- Background Colour: There are 9 choices in various shades and hues.
- Font Colour: There are 9 choices in various shades and hues.
The customization screen will show a preview of what the text will look like, as well as where on the screen the overlay will appear when enabled.
We also provide the background to text colour contrast rating as guidance, though you are welcome to use any combination you want.
