What is the new Season Pass?
The Season Pass and Season Pass: Premium Tier is a new and exciting reimagining of the existing Plunder Pass. Its goals are to ensure a wealth of quality rewards that feel like worthwhile goals to reach along your journey through a Season. The pass culminates with a Star Prize item which we expect to be of interest to even the most esteemed cosmetic collectors!
Alongside this, we are rebalancing and simplifying the way in which you earn Renown throughout a Season, to ensure that your time and effort feel meaningful and is rewarded for clearer player-directed actions over passive actions.
How many Renown levels are there to progress through?
We have reduced the overall number of levels so that your experience moves from having 100 smaller and less impactful rewards, to 50 high-quality and more meaningful moments of reward. Therefore, the Season Pass will now span 50 levels of progression on your way to the Star Prize.
You will still earn rewards for each individual level all the way to Renown 50, but these are now presented to you in a more bite sized format of stages. Each set of 5 levels is presented as a stage, with each stage starting with simple currency rewards and culminating in a high-value cosmetic to choose from.
How am I rewarded?
Each stage grants a variety of different rewards to unlock at each level. These include currency, cosmetics and a choice of Voyage rewards, with each building up to a valuable and high-quality Cosmetic Choice.
All cosmetic and voyage rewards must now be claimed through the Season Pass UI and players will be notified when they have unlocked something new. This will culminate with the Star Prize and allow players to return to the Pass to claim anything they have not yet claimed.
What is a Star Prize?
The Star Prize is a highly desirable and unique item that is only obtainable from the final level of a Season Pass. It’s available to all players (both Season Pass and Premium Tier) and will mark completion of a player’s journey through a Season.
How do I choose rewards?
Some levels of the Season Pass present players with a choice of different rewards. These include cosmetics and playable rewards in the form of Voyages. All cosmetic and voyage rewards must now be claimed through the Season Pass UI.
What happens if I already own all cosmetic rewards in a level?
If a player already owns all cosmetic reward items at any given level, we will credit their account with 100 Ancient Coins at the end of the Season for that reward level.
If a Pirate Emporium set is featured as a Cosmetic Choice in a Season Pass, will other parts of that set appear in a future Pass?
Cosmetic Choices won’t specifically be built to offer complete sets, instead aiming to give a variety of pieces from a variety of sets over time, allowing players to add to their collection of items in a particular set as the Seasons progress.
What happens if I forget to 'collect' my rewards?
To ensure that no one loses out on Seasonal rewards, unclaimed rewards will be automatically granted to players at the end of the Season. For any unclaimed Cosmetic Choices, a default selection will be made and automatically granted. This default selection is set and cannot be altered.
What’s the value of the Season Pass: Premium Tier?
Players who have the Premium Tier will be able to earn 1000 Ancient Coins as they progress, with the freedom to choose what they want to spend them on in the Emporium.
A full ship set of cosmetics including a Cannon Flare and Collector’s items which includes Collector’s Figurehead and Collector’s Sails, will also be available to earn.
On top of what was already on offer, players who have opted into the Premium Tier will also be granted accelerated progression on the Season Pass. This grants a multiplier to the Renown they earn on their journey, saving them time in the long run and allowing them to progress more quickly toward the prestigious Star Prize!
How do I progress through the Season Pass?
Earning Renown can sometimes feel challenging, with a clear path to progressing being difficult to read due to there being so many sources.
The new Season Pass aims to create definitive progress, linked to meaningful actions that cover a variety of different play styles. This means no more Renown from relatively passive sources such as sailing and killing skeletons, and more from meaningful actions such as completing Voyages or engaging with World Events.
What are Renown level skips?
With the onset of the Season Pass, players will be able to purchase a limited number of level skips in exchange for Ancient Coins to help them complete their Passes. While we are adding levels skips for convenience, we still expect players to invest a meaningful amount of time engaging during the Season. Because of this, skips are limited to a maximum of 10 per Season.
