The number of content creators hitting the Sea of Thieves continues to grow and so following your feedback, we’ve provided a number of settings to reduce the negative experience of stream sniping. We are continuing to assess further areas of support for content creators and will keep this guide updated as we add new features.
Prevent Friends Joining Your Crew Without an Invite
This setting prevents the ability for anyone on your friend's list to join your active crew if they have not been issued an invite.
- Navigate to Back - My Crew - Crew Management
- Set Allow Friends to Join Me to No
Replacing/Scrambling Gamertags
This setting allows streamers to replace their Gamertag, their crew members’ Gamertags, and any Gamertags of pirates they meet out in the open world to hide their identity from their viewers. If anyone else on the server enables this feature, then the replaced names will match for everyone allowing players to strategize and shot call as before. Encountering another player in the world who has chosen to replace their Gamertag, their true Gamertag will still be visible to you to ensure you know who you are playing with.
- Navigate to Back - Settings - Gameplay
- Set Replace Gamertags to On
Hiding Crew Gamertags
